The role:

The Warehouse Specialist II, Receiving, is a highly organized, detail-oriented specialist overseeing inbound material disposition and inventory control. This position will coordinate the unloading, receiving and putaway of all inbound material as well as performing daily cycle counts and resolving inventory issues.  The role will be responsible for inventory accuracy and resolving discrepancies. Ability to communicate effectively with others is a must while maintaining relationships with internal and external customers to streamline and optimize inventory flow throughout the operation. Working cooperatively with leaders and peers is critical to success in this role. Effective two-way communication is essential to make recommendations for process improvements.

What you will do:

  • Guide daily disposition of inbound ocean containers and other vendor inbounds.
    • Work with carriers and Kao associates to prioritize inbound material flow.
    • Properly unload/receive and putaway all inbound inventory.
    • Lead all C-TPAT tasks for inbound freight.
  • Ensure accuracy of all Salon inventory.
    • Perform quality audits of receiving, putaway, returns and any outbound functions necessary to maintain inventory integrity.
    • Complete daily cycle count
  • Committed to driving space efficiency through rigorous inventory consolidation while maintaining to SKU and batch integrity.
  • Monitor performance of inbound department through maintenance and analysis of performance data.
    • Generate inventory reports daily.
    • Communicate operational & departmental information to leadership.
  • Produce/analyze inventory and quality reports, identifying trends and proposing solutions to issues.
  • Own the disposition of all returns.
  • Collaborate with leadership in the development of operational activity strategic plans, all compliance initiatives Including assistance with ISO 9000 compliance. 

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in distribution environment.
  • Working knowledge of international shipping protocol and retail customer compliance.
  • Experience and knowledge of ERP systems; proficiency in SAP preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of distribution operations for the retail sector.
  • Minimum of five years of container unload of materials, cycle counting and processing of customer returns.
  • Experience completing and documenting CTPAT inspections of ocean containers.
  • Working with carriers to coordinate inbound deliveries.
  • Skilled at maintaining and updating an inbound freight schedule.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of performing quality audits.
  • Skilled in the processing and disposition of all material returns.
  • History of effective problem analysis, critical thinking and problem resolution at the functional level.
