The role:

The Warehouse Specialist II, Shipping role is a highly organized, detail-oriented specialist overseeing all outbound activities, including inventory control as it relates to picking and shipping. This position will coordinate the picking, shipping, transportation arrangements while assisting with resolving inventory issues.  Ability to communicate effectively with others is a must while maintaining relationships with internal and external customers to streamline and optimize order flow throughout the operation.
Working cooperatively with leaders and peers is critical to success in this role. Effective two-way communication is essential to make recommendations for process improvements.
 
Must be a role model in demonstrating passion for the business while following safe practices and company policies at all times.

What you will do:

• Guide daily disposition and quality of all outbound shipments.
  • Communicate with carriers and Kao associates to prioritize outbound material flow and resolve issues.
  • Ensure all orders are shipped error-free.
  • Work within all DOT requirements as they relate to outbound freight.
• Ensure accuracy of all Salon inventory.
  • Perform quality audits of any outbound functions necessary to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Replenishments tasks are audited as needed.
• Committed to driving space efficiency through FIFO picking and timely replenishment of product.
• Monitor performance of outbound department through maintenance and analysis of performance data.
  • Generate shipping reports daily.
  • Communicate operational & departmental information to leadership.
• Produce/analyze outbound results, identifying trends and proposing solutions to issues.
• Own the disposition of all customer compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership in the development of operational activity strategic plans, all compliance Initiatives Including assistance with ISO 9000 compliance. 

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in distribution environment.
• Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping protocol and retail customer compliance.
• Experience and knowledge of ERP systems; proficiency in SAP preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of distribution operations for the retail sector.
• Minimum of five years of executing shipping processes in a distribution environment.
• Experience completing and documenting outbound trailer inspections.
• Working with carriers to coordinate outbound pickups, acumen to prioritize shipments and picking activity.
• Skilled at maintaining and updating an outbound freight schedule.
• Demonstrated proficiency of performing quality audits.
• Skilled in the processing and disposition of all customer-specific shipping requirements.
• History of effective problem analysis, critical thinking and problem resolution at the functional level.
• Willingness to become a forklift certification trainer.
