The role:

To drive sales performance through professional leadership of the sales team/direct reports by developing strategic partnerships with carefully identified salons, stylists, and key industry influencers by continually identifying opportunities to maximize profitable sales and distribution of products enhancing the profile and image of the Kao product portfolio and source and develop new select customers representing the Kao brands.  

This is an important role that has a direct impact upon the profitability of the business.  

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Copenhagen (hybrid working model).

What you will do:

  • Achievement of sales and distribution performance targets 
    • To lead the sales team (sales consultants) on a day-to-day basis where profitable sales and distribution targets are maximized, and accountabilities and targets are clearly defined.
  • On the job coaching, training, and development 
    • Effectively manage the performance of the sales team and to train and develop sales team’s skills through formal tuition and regular on-the-job coaching.
    • Regular co-driving with the sales team to target specifically new clients and assist with preparation for new key clients meetings.
    • Directly be influencing key clients and through sales teams influencing clients to buy Kao products by ensuring that clients understand how to maximize their profitability through client loyalty regular purchases.
    • Support the sales consultants in preparing contract agreements as well as Client Plans/Joint Business Plans.
  • Ensure sales and education strategies as well as promotions execution to ensure maximum impact 
    • Able to manage with a reasonable degree of autonomy and able to implement a range of solutions and communication tools to ensure sales, education and distribution targets are met.
  • Plan and conduct bi-monthly sales conferences and weekly team’s meetings
    • Prepare and drive meetings that inform and motivate through cascading information from Sales Leadership and management, sharing best practice, problem solving and confront any poor sales performance.
  • Accurate Management of Sales Information and Activities
    • Ensure all sales performance data by sales consultant is analyzed and relevant action is taken. To communicate where necessary with associate director, Salon, Sales.
  • Administration
    • Ensure that the Sales Force system is updated correctly by the sales team.
    • Ensure that the OKR process is followed and completed in due time and assists sales consultants in preparations of targets and measurement.
    • Working with Workday and ensure correct recording of data in their management of their sales team.
    • Ensure compliance with Company Policies and Procedures, as well as the Sales Handbook, the Personnel Handbook, etc.

What you will need:

  • Ideally studied business/sales management at college to graduate/post-graduate level.
  • Working in Sales Divisions with a track record of identifiable successes in same/similar industry sectors i.e. beauty, health and possibly fashion
  • Ideally knows how haircare industry works and has useful contacts across the entire sector or has experience of sales functions in similar FMCG businesses 
  • Min 3-5 years of people manager experience of managing a Sales Team to drive continuous sales performance improvements through the team.
  • Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook as well as sales tools and systems e.g. Power BI and Sales Force.
  • Language proficiency: fluent in one of the Nordic languages as well as English.
