****This position requires travel of 2-3 nights per week****

Purpose of the Position

Work with sales team to gain, maintain, and increase distribution through education with clients, while improving brand awareness resulting in uptake of Kao Salon Division Product Portfolio.

Open new doors aligned to annual set targets.

Work alongside the Education Manager to provide all new products, services and trainings roll out for the Education team. Collaborate with stakeholders as required on Brands to activate strategies within Kao Salon Division.

Improve hairdresser skills and knowledge via inspirational seminars.

Partner with salon owner and team members to build loyalty and trust.

Education, Professional Experience and Other Requirements

  • Hairdresser and High School Diploma
  • Min +4 years of proven industry experience in all aspects of hairdressing and have experience in team leading and basic management, understanding of the different personalities, salon cultures.
  • Knowledge of the commercial salon business and have professional presentation skills and be comfortable being on stage.
  • Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook as well as sales tools and systems: SAT, SAP. Power BI and Sales Force.
  • Language proficiency: Fluent in one of the Nordic languages (country specific) as well as English.
  • Requires clear verbal and written communication and above average writing, grammar, spelling, and proof-reading skills.

Kay Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate and train Kao Salon Division products and services to potential and existing clients
    • Work alongside designated Stakeholders to manage and facilitate the organization of in salon and Academy training plans, events and seminars in order to provide excellent education support that lead to an increase in distribution.
    • Plan and run training sessions that inform, motivate, and maximize the use of Kao Salon Division products.
    • Support customers on the Kao hotline with advice and recommendations.
    • Book models, plan and print materials for seminars, trainings, and events.
  2. Train, coach, and mentor new and existing Educators as well as freelancers
    • Support the education manager in the initiation of New Products to the entire Kao Salon Division department and external staff -Freelancers & Guest Artists.
  3. Co-drive with and support Sales team
    • Support the sales and distribution of Kao Salon Division product portfolio by demonstrating excellent working and technical knowledge of colourants, treatments and haircare products.
    • Keep sales team updated and provide feedback on in Salon trainings.
  4. Demonstrate leadership in all Kao Salon Division activities
    • Perform administration tasks and update relevant stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure all demo product and tools are in pristine condition, fully stocked.
    • Be the primary contact for all education matters for your region/brand and client group and stay updated on new education and relevant information (SME/SPOC on designated brand
  1. Attend and confidently present product information at Sales Conferences and meetings
    • Ensure all colleagues have relevant information.
  2. Ad hoc and administrative tasks
    • Translations (back up) for education coordinator.
    • Some postings of hair related materials and promotions of events and seminars.
